Elferink Signature Guitar

elferink_guitars

I’m really proud to announce that I’m collaborating with the renowned Dutch luthier Frans Elferink of Elferink Guitars. He’s currently building my very own signature Elferink guitar. The only other guitarist with a signature Elferink is master guitarist Jesse van Ruller. You can imagine I’m really proud of this. From March 2012 you’ll be able to order your Elferink ‘Marzio Scholten’ model. More info soon. Have a look at the pictures of my guitar as it’s being built as we speak!

Part 3: Album Mixed

newalbum_p3

Last update I told you guys that we were going to have the album mixed by engineer Chris Weeda. Well, he did… and how! It was such a pleasure spending the day with Chris at his mixing studio. He made the recordings sound exactly how I wanted it to sound. I’m really excited with the results and can’t wait to share it with you guys! The next step is to decide on the right track order and have the album mastered. Meanwhile a fantastic illustrator has begun on the artwork… more about that later…

New album update (Part 2)

newalbum_p2

After having finished the recordings the next step is to select the takes that will end up on the actual album. I took a while off from listening to it and started freshly again last week. It’s funny how differently you hear things after not having heard it for a while. After a few days of intensive listening, lots of notes and lots of coffee, I finally selected the best takes for the album. So now we are ready for mixing. Next week I will spend a day in the studio in Amsterdam with Chris Weeda, a fantastic engineer and a sound genius. He recorded and mixed tons of records and is Toots Thielemans’ live sound engineer. Can’t wait to hear what Chris will do with this recording. I will definitely keep you guys posted!
